Owner/Black Belt Instructor

Adam Deane

Falling in love with martial arts movies as a kid, and being influenced by his father’s love for boxing, led Adam down a lifelong path of martial arts.

As a kid, Adam climbed the ranks of childhood martial arts, training Tae Kwon Do, Kempo Karate, and Hap Kido. As a teenager, Adam spent some time kickboxing and boxing and began wrestling for his high school team, including doing some Greco Roman and Freestyle wrestling in the off season.

Adam found out about Gracie Jiu-jitsu in 2006 and immediately signed up at the nearest gym.  In a course of amazing luck, shortly after signing up, Pedro Sauer moved and became the head instructor at that gym.  Between training out of Pedro Sauer’s main academy, and going to Brazil on 5 separate jiu-jitsu retreats, Adam has shared the mats with Pedro Sauer for over 500 classes.

In addition to Pedro’s tutelage, Adam has had the pleasure of training with and learning from many notable Jiu-Jitsu figures, including Caio Terra, Henry Akins, Jeff Curran, Braulio Estima, Lucas Lepri, and many others.  After ~12 years of training, Adam received his Black Belt in Gracie Jiu-jitsu from Pedro Sauer in January of 2018.
